Functional Screen Information

Here are descriptions of the available screens below.

STOP GUESSING AND START ASSESSING

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREEN

The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is our standardized tool for assessing an individual's everyday movement capabilities, regardless of age. Comprehensive Evaluation: The FMS examines both mobility (range of motion) and stability (core control) to provide a holistic understanding of an individual's movement patterns. Informed Programming: This valuable information empowers healthcare professionals to make precise and purposeful programming decisions.  Identify Strengths: The FMS pinpoints movement patterns the individual excels at, which can be further developed or leveraged in training programs. Address Limitations: It also identifies movement dysfunctions that require attention and correction to prevent potential injuries and improve overall function. Personalized Approach: By eliminating guesswork, the FMS enables the creation of highly individualized programs tailored to each individual's unique needs and goals, fostering a healthy and sustainable movement practice. Preventative Care: Going beyond pain relief, the FMS emphasizes the importance of addressing underlying movement dysfunctions to prevent future injuries and ensure long-term success in returning to enjoyable activities. Individuals will come away with a personalized exercise program that will improve their score.

On Base University Hitting Screen

OnBaseU's Hitting Screen evaluates 12 movements for a hitter that equips professionals with the knowledge and tools to effectively evaluate a hitter's physical limitations that may hinder swing efficiency, durability, and overall enjoyment of the game. This allows us to quickly assess a player's physical capabilities. By understanding the correlation between physical limitations and technical aspects of the swing, professionals can pinpoint the key areas that are hindering a hitter's performance. We call this The Body-Hitting Connection.

On Base University Pitching Screen

OnBaseU's Hitting Screen evaluates 13 movements for a baseball pitcher that equips professionals with the knowledge and tools to effectively evaluate a pitcher's physical limitations that may hinder pitching  efficiency, durability, and overall enjoyment of the game. This allows us to quickly assess a player's physical capabilities. By understanding the correlation between physical limitations and technical aspects of pitching, professionals can pinpoint the key areas that are hindering a baseball pitcher's performance. We call this The Body-Pitch Connection.

Y - BALANCE TEST

YTB.jpg

The Y Balance Test (YBT) is a valuable assessment tool that provides insights into an individual's dynamic balance and motor control. Quadrant Analysis: The YBT divides the body into four quadrants (left/right, upper/lower) to assess how effectively each extremity functions under bodyweight loading while maintaining core stability. Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation: Developed through extensive research, the YBT identifies motor control impairments that often precede or follow injuries. Functional Symmetry: This simple test measures a person's ability to control their limbs while maintaining balance, revealing any functional asymmetries. Performance Mapping: The YBT generates a "map" of an individual's functional limitations, providing valuable information for both rehabilitation and performance enhancement programs.

FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY SCREEN

Many individuals strive to enhance their performance, but often encounter limitations due to underlying fitness deficiencies. The Fundamental Capacity Screen (FCS) offers a groundbreaking approach to fitness testing, providing valuable insights to guide clients and athletes towards optimal performance. The FCS assesses four critical components of athletic capacity: Power Production: The ability to generate explosive force. Energy Storage and Reuse: The efficiency of energy utilization. Load Bearing Posture: The capacity to maintain stable posture under demanding conditions. Dynamic Balance: The ability to control movement and maintain equilibrium. By identifying limitations in these areas, the FCS empowers fitness professionals to implement corrective exercises and conditioning programs to address specific weaknesses. Guide clients and athletes towards the most efficient path to performance enhancement.
